Learning To Trust God

   Hi again,

It's been a while since I blogged and so much has been going on. Today seemed like everything that could go wrong did. Our gas cap on the car locked and we were sitting on less than a fourth of tank of gas. Had to take it to the dealership and will cost over 200.00 to fix. Ouch!

Our managing partner in our business was holding a conference call with all of his group and when question time came around, he couldn't hear us. He is in Georgia and we are in California. My husband and I had been waiting to ask questions, and felt frustrated yelling into the phone trying to be heard.
We ended up having to dial him at home.

God is leading in our new business with Ecoquest International(Maximum Success.com/mp). We have an opportunity to teach people how to breathe cleaner, fresher indoor air. I'm sure we will be witnessing about our faith along the way also.  This is our second week of business and Allan, our managing partner, is right by our side guiding us with his experience. To be able to work from home is a blessing. Another lady in the business emailed me from Washington, and we agreed that we were attracted to this company because it is run by Christians.

I will continue with the Long Island Writers Course, Breaking Into Print. Nancy Berberick is a professional author and is helping me to prepare at least two manuscripts suitable for publication. She gives me writing assignments, critiques them, and I make corrections. I hope to one day write about working from home. I've put the newsletter about  the trials of menopause on hold for now.

It is wonderful that God has a place and plans for each of us. Some can be writers, poets, website designers, etc.

Hope Everyone Is Having A Great Weekend

I didn't realize it had been awhile since I made an entry. Mark & I stay so busy that it's not easy to find time for my writing and Bible study. We received our remote and cord for the air purifier and now today we will make a business plan with our sponsor. We've heard so many testimonials from others in the business that have really done well. Hopefully, with God's help, we will also be successful and Mark can quit his job and we will work the business full time.

Mark is burned out and is tired of the "office" atmosphere. Even though he works from home, he is always reachable by phone and email when things do not turn out the way they should. We've already been talking about what we will do when our business takes off.

I remember how unhappy I was at my job at the insurance agency. It wasn't just the TGIF mentality, but everyday customers were yelling at us, the boss was unhappy, and morale was the pits. I was more than unhappy, I was so miserable that even on the weekends all I could think about was work.
Through prayer, God saw fit to change my situation. When a person feels that miserable, I believe that God is telling them they need to make changes.

Foolishly, I decided to try one of the free build your own website sites. The one I chose had pop-ups that opened as soon as someone clicked on your website. I was totally lostwith all the HMTL directions and finally gave up. I can't afford to pay anyone to design a website. My goal was to do a newsletter for women over 50. I've had some rough patches going through menopause, and wanted to share tips, recipes, and scripture. Now I've decided to wait until our business takes off and then have a website designed.

I'm having a hard time figuring out  a good topic to write about. I saw a website that is looking for articles about trends of the 50's and 60's, so I'm working on one for that. I did get my own webpage, but I'm not sure if you can add to it. I'm going to ask the lady who designed it. She does a beautiful job, and only charges $15.00.

I've been reading in Isaiah for my Bible reading. It's hard to focus as it is pretty dry material. I will probably enjoy it more when I get to the New Testament. Also I am finally getting to join the church on Sept 18 if all goes according to plan.

Hope Everyone Is Doing Well

   Hi Again,

Let me provide a little personal information about me. I am 51 years old and live in Roseville, California with my second husband Mark. I lost my first husband to liver cancer in October of 2002.
I was living in Santa Rosa, California when Frank died. It seemed after his death everything seemed to fall apart. I was being evicted from my one room apartment that I shared with six cats. (Frank loved cats). I disliked my job at a large insurance agency and I wanted to meet that special someone.

I found a better apartment, found homes for four cats(2 had died), and nine months after my husband's death I meant my husband Mark through the Christian Singles Group, Equally Yoked. Actually, we saw each others pictures online. Mark and I celebrated our first anniversary on June 13, 2005. Mark is a sweetie and is totally supportive of my attempts to be a freelance writer.

Mark & I both work from home and at times we need our space. As I said in my last post, we are starting a new business called Maximum Success. After much prayer, I feel God is leading. The business involves air and water purifiers and helps people with asthma, allergies, and is for anyone who wants to be healthy and have their house smell after a rain fresh.

We received our air purifier yesterday. We wanted to test it first, before we try to market it to anyone else. I was so excited and they forgot to send us the cord and remote control, so now we are waiting for those 2 items. Mark and I have been looking for some opportunity to have a business together and as I have been looking, I have run across so many scams. Our company is run by Christians, which makes me feel a whole lot better.

I was just reading some of the message board postings on the ChristianLadies site and look forward to posting there as well. As our business develops, I will still be writing but hopefully will not be so stressed out about making money at it. Look forward to reading more postings and getting to know everyone.

Glad to be Able to Share With You

I have some exciting things on the horizon. First of all, I got a new website. It is not up and running yet, but it will be called MidLifeLadies4Christ.shtml. I hope to encourage ladies who are in the stages of menopause or any stages in between. Weight gain despite our best efforts to eat right and exercise, hot flashes, mood swings, etc can deplete our energy and morale. My plan is to do a newslettter with scripture, health tips, and recipes.
I'm still working at GotQuestions.org and AllAboutGod.com. Learning a lot about problems of other people and how scripture applies to our problems. Feeling blessed by being on a read the bible in a year plan. It's addicting. I really look forward each day to doing my scriptures. I've been published 4 times, so I am getting my feet wet.
Journaling has become part of my routine now. If I don't write down my feelings, I feel overwhelmed and things look a lot worse than they really are. Started yesterday with writing and taking some deep breaths.
Starting a new home business called Maximum Success. This business involves selling air purifiers and after much prayer and reflection, I think this is the business my husband and I have been waiting for. It is run by Christians, which was important to both of us. My husband Mark, has respiratory problems so we are trying out a unit first. We will work on the business together and I will still write.
Mark and I also judge young people's plays and now Mark will be playing the baker in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." We stay busy enough, but now we will be super busy.
